Please note: This is purely a work of fiction.  If some of the things I have written  here seem like you have read the quotes in the news papers or seen them on a 24/7 news channels they are still just a product of my warped and demented imagination.
If I include a famous person making a quote, it is only as I would imagine that person saying that quote from things they have said in the past.
If I offend you with my little story...I am truly sorry you are offended and wonder if maybe you need to take a break and get a life.  This story is all in fun and all I am trying to do here is show how a manufactured "Crisis" can become in "reality" and become law of the land.
Money, promotions and power can be made from lies, if the lies are pushed by people who, others perceive as people of authority or famous celebrities.

Today Al Gore announced his support for HB 1542, the NO BEARS LEFT BEHIND wild life funding bill making its way through congressional committee hearings.

 Mr. Gore is quoted as saying,”This is a Crisis that we can not ignore!  The Russians are fast approaching a way to save their East Siberian Brown Bears so why are we doing nothing to protect our Great American Brown Bear from extinction?  Will there be little baby Brown Bear Cubs next spring?  Will our grand children be denied the pleasure of seeing wild and free Great American Brown Bears as they roam the Rocky Mountain West, in peace and tranquility?”  Looking in to the television camera Mr. Gore continued.  “I have proof that the reason our Great American Brown Bear is on the verge of extinction! Global Climate Change!!!  Mankind has brought this extinction on the mighty American Brown Bear.  The only way we can save the Brown Bears is with HB 1542, the No Bears Left Behind bill.  We must act now!  Each day we fail to act, six more bears die!  At the beginning of the twenthy century, there were over 500,000 Brown bears in the United States and today the number has dwindled to less than 1,000.  Man caused this Crisis and only man can turn this Crisis into Triumph.  Call your Congressional Representative and your US Senator and demand they support HB 1542! Just remember that without the action of HB 1542 there is no tomorrow for the Great Ameican Brown Bear. Thank you and God Bless America.”

The Ed Show

Ed Schultz was looking down at some notes on a piece of paper in front of him as his guest, Doctor Raj Ratatatji of the Federal Department of the Interior, sat down across the table from him.  Finally, Ed looked up and into the camera lens just as the light came on to indicate he was on the air.

“We are back!  My guest for this segment is the world famous scientist, Doctor Raj Ratatatji of the Department of the Interior.  Doctor Ratatatji, may I call you Raj?”

“Sure Ed.  After all we have been friends for several years now.”

“Raj, please tell me, why this HB1542 is so important for the Nations Security and welfare.”

“Well Ed, for quite awhile it has been known that the numbers of the Great American Brown Bear has been shrinking and HB1542 will help to keep the Great American Brown Bear from going extinct.  The Russian have already started a project of their own to save the East Siberian Brown Bear from extinction.  With the funding from HB1542 America will simply be playing Catch up to the Russians.  You don’t want America to loose a race to the Russians do you?”

“Of course not!  The Russians got the best of us back in the 1950’s, when  they sent one of their cosmonauts up in space before we sent up John Glenn.  Russian Dogs even beat it to space before American Astronauts!”

“HB 1542 will provide funding to equip each and every Great American Brown Bear with a transmitter computer that will do several functions:  a GPS function to show them where food can be located, it will enable male bears to find suitable mates and it will show the bears where humans are living to avoid human contact.  Lastly, the most important part of the program.  This is where the Brown Bears will actually be working for Homeland Security.”

A gasp went up from the people in the room.

“Homeland Security?  What are we going to do have them patrolling the nation’s borders looking for Illegals and invading armies?”

“Exactly.”

Another gasp came from those in the studio.

“How exactly are you going to pull that off?”

“Each Brown Bear will be equipped as I mentioned with a computer transmitter.  While the bears are out near the nations borders and if they see any persons crossing the borders they will be instructed to transmit that information to the local border patrol station.”

“Wow!  Now that is truly amazing!  Well what can my audience do to help get the ball rolling?”

“They should contact their Congressional Representative and demand that they vote for HB 1542.  We are in a Crisis! If we want to see little baby Brown Bear cubs coming out of their dens next spring we have to act now.  Every day more and more Brown Bears die needlessly and with our help there will more and more Brown Bear deaths until Poof, no more!
